UpToDate is a clinical point-of-care resource, designed to give detailed, textbook-like information for over 10,000 topics. In UpToDate, you can find:

• Broad information on diagnoses, screening, and treatment
• Patient handouts
• Calculators organized by speciality
• Graphics for diseases and conditions, treatments, epidemiology, etc.
• CE/CME credit

IMPORTANT: The video states you do not need Internet to access the UpToDate app. You DO NEED an active Internet connection to use the app.

Start at the Pumerantz Library home page and look below the Discovery Search box and click on the UpToDate link:

You will need to sign in to the WesternU Proxy Server with your WesternU email username (without the @westernu.edu) and password.

In the upper right corner of the UpToDate home page, click on the Register button to create an account.

Create a username and password for your UpToDate account. This can be the same as your WesternU email log-in credentials or it can be anything you want to create.

IMPORTANT: When registering for an UpToDate account for the first time, you will be sent a verification code to the email address you entered in the registration form. You will have ten minutes to put that code into the UpToDate registration form.

Once you create an account, go to your mobile app store for your iOS or Android device and download the UpToDate app. Use the username and password you created for your UpToDate account to log in.

Important!

The UpToDate app requires active Internet connection to work!

Every 90 days, log into UpToDate from the Pumerantz Library website to authenticate your account.
