VisualDx is a clinical decision support tool, which you can use to build a diagnosis based on a patient's clinical findings.

You can:

  • Build up diagnoses by searching for various symptoms, and choose the patient's characteristics (age and gender).
  • Search for physical effects that may present as a result from taking certain medications. 
  • Read synopses of diseases and conditions, along with what to look for, differential diagnoses, and best tests to diagnose a certain disease or condition.

How to Download VisualDx

On the Pumerantz Library home page, click on the E-Resources tab in the top menu header bar.

 

In the database listings, click on the "V" icon in the filter section near the top of the page and click on VisualDX

 

 If you are off campus, you will need to sign into the WesternU Proxy Server with your WesternU email username (without the @westernu.edu) and password.

On the VisualDx homepage, click on the Get the Mobile App option.

 

Create a VisualDx account with a username and password of your own choosing. Download the VisualDx app from either the App Store or Google Play and enter in the username and password you created for your VisualDx account.

Important!

The VisualDx app does not require active Internet connection
